Most of us here have a microwave. We need a microwave so that we can cook or heat our food fast and easily. I usually use my microwave to heat my food whenever I don’t feel like cooking after a rough day at work. Also, most of you can relate, I use my microwave to cook my popcorn. Microwave popcorn is the best!
I love having popcorn. My family and I love to cook popcorn in our microwave before we start watching movies on our big television. However, whenever we use our microwave very often, let us say we cook three popcorn after the first popcorn gets cooked, there is a burnt smell from the microwave.
Yes! The smell of a burnt microwave is unpleasant. The reason why burnt microwave smells exist is that you use your microwave too much or you burn the food you cook or heat up inside your microwave.
Luckily, I have found out how to get the burnt smell out of the microwave. I have done it many times and my secret trick makes such a difference. If you are dealing with a burnt smell from your microwave, you must finish reading this article of mine because I will be telling you the secret trick to removing the burnt smell from your microwave.
How To Remove Burnt Smell From Microwave?
The first thing that you must do if you have burnt food inside the microwave is to remove the food inside.
If the food inside the microwave is not contained then when it burns, it may get on the sides and ceiling of your microwave. When you don’t remove the burnt food, it will continue to smell.
After you remove the burnt food or if you don’t have any burnt food, then you can move on to the next step.
The next step you should execute is to get some paper towels and wet them. Not too much, but wet enough. Squeeze the wet paper towels but make sure there is plenty of moisture left in the paper towel.
Next, you add about 5-10 drops of lemon essential oil to the paper towels then place the paper towels in the microwave and run it for 1-2 minutes. Stay close so that your paper towel will not be completely dry while it is inside the microwave.
When your microwave is finished running, let the paper towel sit for another two minutes inside your microwave. Your microwave will get steamy and fill with the awesome smell of the lemon oil you put in.
After that, open your microwave and take the paper towel out and give the inside a good wipe down. This will remove the burnt smell from your microwave.
Your microwave should smell like fresh lemons instead of burnt food. However, if your microwave still has a burnt smell, add more water to your paper towel and a few more drops of lemon essential oil.
So, to conclude, all you need to remove the burnt smell from your microwave are:
- 2-3 paper towels
- 5-10 drops of lemon essential oil
- Water
Easy. Right? If you caught your microwave having a burnt smell, just do the secret tips I gave you above. Check some of these lemon essential oils I usually use.
How Long Does It Take For A Burnt Microwave Smell To Go Away?
If you do not do the things I said above, it can take 2-3 hours for a burnt microwave smell to go away.
However, if you follow carefully and properly the steps I gave you above, then the burnt microwave smell can go away in just minutes.
But even though you did or did not do the secret tips I said above, you must still keep your microwave open. Keep your microwave open after executing the things I said.
